Advanced Maternity Care for Women in Amarillo
Women in the Texas panhandle have entrusted their maternity care to Northwest Texas Healthcare System for nearly a century. Many things set our services apart: our Childbirth Center has been designated a Blue Distinction® Center for Maternity Care by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas; we offer classes on childbirth, breastfeeding and child care; we’re the only hospital in the panhandle that offers anesthesia services 24/7 and couplet care with the option of respite nursery; and if your baby needs special care, our Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is equipped to treat babies that were born premature, are unstable or have low birth weights.

Nationally Recognized Center for Maternity Care
NWTHS’ Advanced Maternity Care has been designated a Blue Distinction Center for delivering improved patient safety and better health outcomes for our patients. Our Childbirth Center is staffed 24/7 by OB/GYNs, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, nurse anesthetists and neonatal nurses to provide comprehensive maternity care. And we believe in a family-centered approach to childbirth and give you the option of having an intimate and private birth setting, or one that is openly shared with loved ones.

Lindsey Clayton had a very specific birth plan for her daughter. She wanted as little medical intervention as possible, but also wanted to know that if there were complications, she and her baby would be well taken care of. NWTHS helped her deliver her baby, her way.
